Why did Appeal to Heaven choose Blind?
We chose Blind because we knew it was going to be a challenge. It was one of our favorite songs growing up. We listened to the Butterfly album on repeat for most of the summer as teenagers, and when that last song Blind came on, it was pure poetry. It was such a great way to end the album. It faded so eloquently, but too soon. Just as those guitars start picking away and Guy Chadwick starts singing "I'm Just Blind", it delicately fades away. We always wanted more.
We decided to challenge ourselves and show off our appreciation for one of the greatest bands out there. We wanted to try and capture the heart and soul of how that song made us feel when we were young. It's our way of spreading our wings and thanking one of the greatest influences on us as musicians, the House of Love.

I had never heard of Mercury Girls until I saw them with Balance and Composure and Foxing. They killed it live and the next thing I knew, I had this record in my hands. E L I
